Hathmore Technologies, LLC and their Builder Partners have been raking in the awards lately.
Hathmore was awarded the Energy Star for Homes Leadership in Housing Award for 2008. (see related article) Hathmore certified over 50 homes last year. The energy and emissions saved by these homes is equivalent to:
-
Eliminating emissions from 25.97 vehicles
-
Saving 157.092 lbs of coal
-
Planting 42.93 acres of trees
-
Saving homeowners $23,691 on utility bills.
Hathmore is on track to double our certification of Energy Star homes this year. We are looking forward to seeing the energy and emissions reductions of over 100 Energy Star Homes in 2009!
Hathmore Builder Partners have also
been winning awards this year.
Blue Hills Community Services' Olive Street Homes development an example of excellence in energy efficient affordable housing.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have awarded Blue Hills Community Services the 2009 ENERGY STAR® Award for Excellence in Energy-Efficient Affordable Housing in recognition of its efforts to provide energy-efficient housing for low-income residents. Blue Hills Community Services were recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 31, 2009.
Building energy-efficient affordable housing is our mission”, said Joanne Bussinger, Executive Director of Blue Hills Community Services, referring to the Olive Street Homes development and other community initiatives promoting energy efficient lifestyles. “The value added amenities and advantages of building and living with ENERGY STAR are worth the cost when considering the savings that are passed on to the most economically sensitive population. ENERGY STAR homes ensure the overall affordability, improved indoor air quality and reduction of local energy consumption.”
MG Crocker Homes won the KCHBA 2009 American Dream Grand Prize Award for their Duplex unit in Shawnee, KS. Builder Mike Crocker attained both Energy Star and NAHB Silver level certifications for this home.
Boyce & Nichols, LLC was awarded the KCHBA 2009 American Dream Grand Prize Award for their Energy Star certified, custom home in Overland Park, KS.
As quoted from the KCHBA website... “American Dream Awards recognize superior construction techniques and distinctive new-home architecture and design. Each entry on the Spring Homes Tour is eligible to compete for an American Dream Award with categories determined by sales price for single-family, multifamily, maintenance provided, and condominium and loft homes. Builders earn points among criteria including craftsmanship, the standard of materials and the home's overall appeal. The American Dream Awards are the most prestigious local honor area new-home builders can receive.”
The fastest growing segment of Hathmore’s business is for Green Certifications – either USGBC’s LEED for Homes or the NAHB Green Home Building Guidelines and Standards. In fact, all 5 of the green homes on the KCHBA Spring Parade of Homes were certified by or are in the process of being certified by Hathmore.
